The “EMOTION” (Health democracy and patient participation index) study is a European research project that aspires to promote patient participation in health policy. The first step is the evaluation of the degree of participation and the impact that patient organizations have in the health policy decision making process. The second step concerns the implementation of empowering strategies in order to facilitate patients’ involvement and advocacy, while also assisting patient organizations in achieving a more active role in health policy. This is the first time that a research project aims to assess patients’ participation at macro level.
This project can provide a unique opportunity for your organization to be a part of this pan – European initiative, leading to a more active role in health policy decision making in favor of the patients.
